Diabetes UK Charity Snowdon Climb!

Sunday 17th September saw Rep Max Fitness troopers summit the highest peaks in both Wales and England for Diabetes UK. It feels very satisfying to give something back to this brilliant charity. Thank you to all who have donated a total of £520!

I travelled to Wales to hike the Snowdon Pyg Track together with troopers Sarah and Carolyn. Special shout out to my client Sarah for her determination to complete this after this being her second attempt!

I first started training Sarah back in May this year and what an incredible journey it’s been. Sarah has dropped dress sizes and has lost nearly 4 stone so far completely changing her lifestyle choices. Along the way she has had many hurdles and suffering from Fibromyalgia, Sarah ALWAYS fights back and pushes through. I couldn’t be a prouder PT.

It was a misty and damp day with wild wind in places. I certainly tested out my nails gripping on to the rock in the wind at one point and I am incredibly proud of all our efforts. A great deal of satisfaction was felt after several hours on reaching the peak and it’s easily one of the most challenging and rewarding things I’ve done. Snowdon is 1,085 metres (3,560ft) high. We clocked in some 19km over 10 hours testing us all physically and mentally.

Up in Cumberland Rob took an early morning hike up Englands highest mountain Sca Fell Pike 978 metres (3,208ft) along the corridor route from Seathwaite. It was standard cloudy, wet Cumberland weather. A melton Mowbray pork pie and chunky Kit Kat saw him completing the route in six hours.

Fantastic work troopers and a massive thank you to all who’ve donated to Diabetes UK so far. The just giving page will be open for a while longer and is linked here:

Next years charity is to be confirmed but I would love to hear suggestions

for challenges from troopers or from those who’d like to join in. If you’re interested in this or training with me please drop me a message at info@repmaxfitness.co.uk
