Laura’s Transformation.

I may be a fitness instructor and personal trainer now, but I wasn’t always in such good shape as I am now. When it comes to feeling uncomfortable in your own skin and unable to feel good about yourself, I promise that you are NOT alone.

The girl who I used to be on the left side of this photo had low self-esteem, no confidence and actually really disliked how she looked in the mirror. I felt uncomfortable in my own skin.

I experienced bullying in a workplace which lowered my confidence and self-esteem so much that I started experiencing suffering from severe depression and anxiety. It was then that I began to study my Level 2, Fitness Instructor and Level 3 Personal Training as a sense of distraction as I found going to the gym was my medicine instead of the anxiety medication the GP had prescribed me with.

This then lead the start of my own weight-loss journey, as I started to change my lifestyle and the way I thought and looked at food and myself. I began to gradually start to feel like my old self again, a better me even, and built my life back up from scratch. After losing 2 jobs at the beginning of the year due to redundancy and covid-19, I set up my Personal Training business, Rep Max Fitness, to start helping others utilising my own life experiences.

I certainly understand the emotional and physical side to weight loss and getting motivated to get fit, which I’m always happy to share with my clients. I understand fitness now, but I didn’t always. I hope my own journey gives you the confidence you, too, can achieve your goals!
