Cancer Research Colchester 5km run

Giving back is one of the most rewarding feelings and things you can do. Unlike receiving giving has a threefold positivity - the person giving feels good, the receiver feels it and anyone who bears witness to the act also gets an emotional uplift. So give often and generously!

On 10 July 2022 together with some of my wonderful troopers we completed the Cancer Research Colchester 5km run. In doing so over £600 was raised as a group. Some fabulous photographs of the event are shown on the blog.

This meant a huge amount to me personally as cancer has touched the lives of several close family members. Knowing its impact and how many other lives it affects I wanted to enter this race and help with donations and raising awareness.

It was really touching when some of my wonderful troopers agreed to join me. I never feel that I have clients to train for x no. of sessions a week. My troopers are all special and I am in touch with many of them outside of their sessions. Some have even helped me too over the years and they know who they are and that I am grateful.

Also it was the first 5km for some of the group and they all did incredibly well. Anyone looking to complete their first run or event please contact me if you need fitness or nutritional advice or assistance.

Given such a rewarding and fun time was had the Colchester Stampede 10km 2023 has been earmarked as a future event already. I am also on the lookout for future events that my troopers and I can get involved with. So if you’re a charity and would like us to assist with fundraising get in touch. Also if you’re in a fitness rut and want to both personal train and be part of a network of troopers who support each other I would love to discuss training options with you.

Love and support to all those coping with cancer both personally and in supporting their loved ones.
